Biography
James Hall (1793 - 1868) was born in Philadelphia and went west in search of adventure. His novels and sketches were important sources of information about life on the western frontier for those living back east. His books includeLegends of the West (1832), Tales of the Border (1834), Sketches of History, Life and Manners, in the West (1835), and The Wilderness and the WarPath (1846). ;
